About Me
Hello! My name is Carly Tousignant, and I'm who you'll see behind the camera! I go by Carly Alice Photography, as Tousignant is too complicated, even for me. (Pronounced by the family as: Tooz-nuh... weird, right!?)
I live in Kenyon, MN with my husband, Cole, and our two fur-babies, Briggs and Sogn (you'll see a lot of them throughout my site!) Briggs is a mini-labradoodle, and Sogn is an English Springer Spaniel. I love animals, arts & crafts, cooking & eating (pasta is my weakness!), music & singing, trying out new adventures, and discovering new photo locations!
While Cole and I are currently in Kenyon, I am crossing my fingers to eventually find somewhere (still in SE MN) with space for a small studio!
Cole and I both graduated from Winona State, where we met. My degree is in Criminal Justice/Corrections/Child Advocacy. Cole is a licensed attorney and works in Rochester at a title company.
I am a strong advocate for mental health awareness, and I love working with kids! I've spent my career working with adolescents in a state psychiatric hospital in SD, and was recently a Mental Health Practitioner for Rochester Public Schools working with elementary students. I currently work overnights at the Juvenile Services Center in Hastings.
How I got here:
I am so inspired by how photographers make their clients feel on days they will always want to remember - it is such a special job to capture such valuable days and memories. I thought to myself - 'I want to be able to do this for others'.
I have always been a creative person, and photography has always been a passion of mine. I had finally decided to do something about it. In the Fall of 2018, I invested in a nice, professional camera, and started a new life adventure in the Summer of 2019 when I officially began my photography business!
I am self-taught and constantly learning new things to help me achieve more. Working overnights, I have tons of downtime to learn all about the art of photography and editing software. I want to help you capture beautiful moments in your life.
Photography is my coping skill, my way of de-stressing, my breath of fresh air.
